Designing the brand identity for Roastiqua—a fictional specialty coffee shop and creative hub—required building a visual world where artisanal coffee culture and contemporary artistic expression naturally converge. Positioned as a cultural anchor in vibrant urban neighborhoods, the concept targets a youthful, aesthetic-driven audience of Millennials and Gen Z, including students, freelancers, and emerging artists. Built upon core values of creativity, community, quality, and sustainability, the brand is designed to be much more than a café; it is an inspiring, evolving gallery space. The resulting design system perfectly balances a welcoming, relaxed coffee atmosphere with a stimulating environment that actively supports focus, self-expression, and collaborative work. At the center of this identity is a cleverly crafted combined symbol that merges coffee imagery with artistic abstraction. Utilizing negative space, the logo reveals a stylized coffee cup and a dynamic splash, capturing the expressive movement of pouring liquid. This central motif is encircled by an imperfect ring inspired by a natural coffee stain. With deliberately uneven and slightly rough edges, the mark introduces a highly tactile and authentic feel, beautifully symbolizing both the handcrafted quality of specialty coffee and the inherently organic nature of the creative process.
